Snapchat spectacles, duels and skeletons – all this and more at the University of Bradford's open day!
Where can you have the chance to become a TV presenter, impress the business dragons, take part in a virtual duel, examine a skeleton, be a judge for a day or set the nation's interest rate?
All of these opportunities will be available at the University of Bradford's open day on Saturday June 24 from 9.30am - 2.30pm.
Taking place at the University’s city campus in the heart of Bradford, the open day will showcase a range of courses from Dementia Studies through to Cyber Security. Not only will visitors get the opportunity to talk to academics and student ambassadors, but they could be in with a chance of winning the latest must-have gadget, a pair of Snapchat spectacles.
Anyone who attends the Open Day, uses the specially designed snapchat filter and shares it with the University will be entered into the competition. The spectacles were only released in London at the beginning of June and are one size fits all sunglasses with a built-in always on camera, which means you can capture footage whilst you are on the move.
Information will be available on writing UCAS personal statements, dealing with student finance and the opportunities available to students outside of academic work. There will also be advice for parents to support their children’s transition to higher education and information for adults considering returning to education.
In addition, there will be tours of the campus and its award-winning facilities, including student accommodation in The Green, located a stone’s throw from the Lecture Theatres.
Associate Director (Recruitment Operations) at the University of Bradford, Claire Pryke, said: “Attending our open day is an ideal way to find out more about university life here. It will help you make an informed decision about where to start the next phase of your academic journey. It’s an important decision, and our open day is designed to make sure you get all those questions answered.
“Our courses are designed with industry input from many of the employers who will be sifting through your CV, and as a student here you’ll be taught by the academic experts whose pioneering research is shaping the very future of those industries and professions. You’ll also have the opportunity to go on work placements with some of the world’s biggest names.”
“This year we are running an exciting competition with a chance a win a fantastic pair of Snapchat spectacles, so I hope everyone will get involved and use our special Snapchat filter and share their open day experiences with us.”
